BAT Brasil is responsible for the most complex distribution network of the BAT group
BAT Brasil has the most complex distribution network of whole BAT. It is not aimlessly that the department not only is a reference for other companies in the group, as it is also considered an international benchmark in distribution, timeliness and accuracy of deliveries.
The capillarity of distribution is an important competitive advantage of the company. BAT Brasil directly serves about 244,000 points of sale in more than 5,000 Brazilian municipalities - approximately 95% of the country's total.
To ensure the supply of its complex chain, the company has six Regional units of Marketing and Integrated Centers of Distribution (ICDs), located in Belo Horizonte (MG), Curitiba (PR), Porto Alegre (RS), Recife (PE), Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and São Paulo (SP) - the latter is the largest and most modern in Latin America in the tobacco segment.
The ICDs coordinate deliveries to other 28 Distribution Operations Centers (DOCs), and dozens of service stations. In all, there are 2,700 vehicles and 3,500 employees involved in these operations.
The wide range of products BAT Brasil demands a high investment in technology and security. Still in the distribution centers, order and route of each vehicle are defined by a modern system. When it is in displacement, the fleet is monitored of remote and central form, being escorted when necessary.
Occupational safety is a priority to BAT Brasil and its entire distribution operation and logistics. One of its initiatives in this direction is the Zero Accident, internal program that develops a series of actions to prevent traffic accidents. Its goal is to null the occurrences.
To reach its goal, BAT Brasil invests in a series of internal campaigns, aimed mainly to raise awareness in traffic, and theoretical and practical training for their drivers, among others.
